Forget Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson locking lips in New Moon, Kristen has a far more controversial make-out session in her upcoming movie The Runaways: She shares a steamy kiss with Dakota Fanning!

“Yes, it happens in The Runaways,� Dakota told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson of their onscreen smooch.

“Was it a passionate kiss?� Shaun asked.

“Yeah. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life,� Dakota says. “And that’s something that went down back in the ‘70s.�According to the 15-year-old, the kiss wasn’t difficult to prepare for since, she says “we were so into the scene and into the script and the characters.�

Despite playing BFFs in the rock biopic, there’s no love lost between the actresses in the vampire sequel: Dakota plays Jane, the angelic-looking bloodsucker, who wishes Kristen’s Bella dead.
