Snow White and The Huntsman released in 2012 was a big hit at the box office, earning around 56 million dollars in its opening weekend. It was such a great high quality movie that they decided to make another one, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, which didn’t have Kristen Stewart as the main character but still did a good job at the box office with around 20 million of earning in its debut.
Stewart starred as Snow White opposite Chris Hemsworth who held the character of the Huntsman in the 2012 movie.
In the film, Stewart was held in prison, ever since she was young, by Queen Ravenna who is her evil stepmother (Charlize Theron). She managed to run into the forest and escape, but Queen Ravenna was quick to send her Huntsman to capture her…
‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ was a great movie, a female-led action fantasy flick remake of Snow White story, starring Kristen Stewart as the main character and different kind of Snow White, a warrior one, a girl who doesn’t care about getting dirty or taking a sword to fight. The second movie, ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ starring Chris Hemsworth didn’t have Kristen Stewart, not even as a supporting character, and also, didn’t make such a big success as the first one did.
However, many people think that not having Kristen Stewart again in the film was the cause of such a lower earning with the sequel. Even when it was openly known that the second movie was not going to have Stewart as the lead character, not many people thought that the second one was going to be a marketing disaster in the making, even when it didn’t do that bad at the end.The main reason for the second streaming movies not being as profitable as the first one was the lead character.
A Role Well Played
Not only did Kristen Stewart an awesomely perfect job with her role, but the female lead action character was one of the things that made more female viewers target the movie as a good one making it a great marketing strategy. That’s the main reason; it wasn’t only a big-budget action streaming movie with a famous actress in the lead character, but a revolutionary way of bringing more people to the cinema to see a remake of one of the most famous Disney stories.
By getting Kristen Stewart out of the film, her usually obsessive fan base lost their interest in the movie, her lead star wasn’t in the movie anymore, so, why would I go see it?
With this role and situation, Kristen Stewart was not only made a great actress and an important asset in any movie, this fan base she has can attract more people into anything she’s doing, even when it doesn’t mean that every film she does will be a blockbuster.
However, her role as a different kind of action female character in the first Snow White hd movie of this decade was the main reason for such a big success. If the sequel to the Snow White and The Huntsman had Stewart as the main character or at least a supporting one, the movie would not only do better but actually really good.
Movie Critics on Kristen Stewart Role as Snow White
Stewart brings a lot of people together with her awesomeness, and with this movie, she makes the assertion that not only is she a talented actress, but a mark, a brand that will make everything be better and more successful.
